Cultural collaboration: A shining aspect of Vietnam-France friendship

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung shared during his meeting with French Minister of Culture Rima Abdul Malak in Paris on November 17 that Vietnam is an active member making significant contributions to the activities of the Francophone community.

During the meeting, he praised the effective operation of two cultural centers – the French Institute in Vietnam and the Vietnamese Cultural Center in France – as they actively serve as a cultural bridge connecting the two nations through diverse activities.

In response, French Minister Rima Abdul Malak stated that the relationship between France and Vietnam is traditionally rooted in history, with cultural cooperation shining as a bright spot that connects the two peoples together.

She emphasized that France pays attention to and focuses on developing cultural and creative industries that bring high-quality values ​​to the younger generations.

The French Minister proposed programs to translate French literary works into Vietnamese and Vietnamese literary works into French.

She also suggested promoting cooperation in the field of cinema – an area that France attaches great importance to.

The two ministers agreed to assign relevant agencies to develop a planning framework that facilitates the signing of cooperation documents on the occasion of the official visit by French leaders to Vietnam in 2024.

On this occasion, she invited the Vietnamese Minister to the 19th Francophonie Summit in October 2024, which will be hosted by France.
